Shirley Martella Edmunds, 83, passed away on August 24, 2015, in Lees Summit, MO.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 27, from 6-8:00pm, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18202 E. 39th St in Independence. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
Contributions may be made to Village Hospice in her memory.
Shirley was born on March 17, 1932, to James and Janie (McKay) McEvers in Independence, MO. She graduated from William Chrisman High School and married Wesley Edmunds. To this union were born four children. Shirley was a devoted housewife and mother who also enjoyed being involved in church youth activities with Parkview Community of Christ, Skylark, and Boy Scouts. In later years, she and Wesley loved spending time at their summer cabin in Branson.
Shirley is survived by her children: son, Samuel Edmunds (wife, Debbie), daughter, Cathy Polston (husband, Jerry), son, Alan Edmunds (wife, Patricia), and son, Scott Edmunds (wife, Martha); 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Wesley, in 2001.
