Edward Cooper Jr

Edward Lee Cooper Jr., 90, of Independence, MO, passed away on September 29, 2023. He was born in Independence on August 1, 1933, to Edward and Dorothy (Willard) Cooper Sr. Edward went to North East High growing up and really enjoyed pole vaulting. He enjoyed it so much they had one in their back yard at home. Edward was very into his church and played ball there in his school days. He enlisted in the Army and was active for two years. Edward was in Germany at the same time as Elvis. In his older years he really enjoyed going for boat rides out on the lake.

Edward is survived by his children: William Cooper, Lori Murphy, Kevin Cooper, and Kelly Cooper, and his brother Eugene Cooper and his wife. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Earl Dean Cooper and Everett Paul Cooper, wives Charlene, Maxine, and JoAnn, and two daughters Lisa Kay and Shelia.

A memorial service will be held on October 20, 2023 beginning at 2:00 p.m.
