Liva Edward, 76 of Independence, MO entered peacefully into the Lords hands on Sunday, March 18th, 2012. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 23rd 2012 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Stake Center in Independence, MO. With visitation preceding the service from 10:00am-11:30am. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery. Mrs. Edward was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was the granddaughter of King Taimalelagi Malietoa of Samoa who welcomed the first missionaries to Samoa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vine S. Edward, Sr.; sons Vine S. Edward, Jr. and Talailevasamoa Saupo Edward; her parents Aloa and Faalaeo Taimalelagi-Malietoa Lei, Brother Au Moe, 4 sisters: Mafatua Lei, Fuifui Lei, Mele Fonoimoana, Leafa Koenig and great grandson Tucker T. Anderson. Surviving are: Brother, Vanu T. (Mary) Lei of Palm Springs, CA; Children: Sue (Hoglund) Edward of Mt. Prospect, Il. , Mormon (April) Edward of Arlington Heights, IL. , Joann (William) Sands of Independence, MO., Faith (David) Bolen of Aurora, CO., Juliett (Teleso) Lavea of Oceanside, CA. Grandchildren: Vine (Blair) Edward of Beloit, Il., Jessica Edward of Mt. Prospect, Il., Jason (Jenny) Lavea of Provo, UT., Tyler & Teleso Lavea, Jr. of Oceanside, CA., Brock Bolen, Blake Bolen and Bo Bolen of Aurora, CO., Mariel Sands & Audrey (Kale) Anderson of Independence, MO; Alexandra Barrera of Chicago, IL and Jahmil Taylor of Aurora, CO. Great Grandchildren: Logan & Kendall Jade Edward of Beloit, IL, Tatum & Madalynn Anderson of Independence, MO and Jayden Taylor of Aurora, CO and many friends, nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
