Edward Thomas Osowski, known affectionately as Ed, has sadly passed away at the age of 65. He was born on July 29, 1958, in Kansas City, Missouri, and he peacefully departed this world on November 19, 2023, at his home in Independence, Missouri. Ed was a loving husband, father, brother, son, and friend whose absence leaves a void that will be felt deeply by all who knew him.

 

Ed's career as an Elevator Constructor was a testament to his dedication and skill. He approached his work with unwavering commitment and an unwavering sense of professionalism. Ed's expertise in his field earned him the respect of colleagues and friends alike. His meticulous attention to detail and problem-solving abilities made him an invaluable asset to the industry.

 

Beyond his professional life, Ed had a multitude of hobbies and interests that brought him immeasurable joy. He had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Whether he was exploring nature or working with his hands on various repairs and projects, Ed's love for the outdoors and his ability to adapt to any situation were evident. He found solace in parachuting club activities and cherished the camaraderie he shared with fellow enthusiasts.

 

Ed possessed a warm and inviting personality that drew people towards him effortlessly. His sense of humor was infectious, bringing laughter to even the most somber of occasions. And perhaps one of Ed's most defining traits was his genuine heart of gold. Always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, he provided comfort not only to his loved ones but also to strangers who crossed his path. His selflessness was evident in every aspect of his life.

 

Among Ed's proudest accomplishments was his family. He cherished his wife Deborah Osowski dearly and together they built a beautiful life filled with love and happiness. Their children Ariel and James were the lights of their lives, bringing them immeasurable joy and pride. Ed's dedication to his family was unwavering, and he ensured that they always felt supported and loved.

 

Ed's passing leaves a void in the lives of wife, Deborah Osowski; children Ariel and James Osowski; brother, John Osowski; sister, Mary Ann Hammontree; mother, Elvira Osowski. These family members have lost a beloved son, brother, and uncle whose presence brought light into their lives.

 

In addition to his immediate family, Ed is survived by his adoring nieces and nephews, John Jr. Osowski, Jade, Zach, and Alix Caldwell, Blake Cottrell, and great-nephew Leo. Their lives were enriched by Ed's love and wisdom. He was a guiding force in their lives and ingrained values that will continue to shape their future.

 

Ed's impact extended beyond blood ties as he developed strong bonds with others throughout his lifetime. His parents-in-law Robert and Barbara Lane held a special place in Ed's heart, as well as his sister-in-law, Tami Cottrell. He valued their presence and esteemed them as part of his extended family. He is preceded in death by his infant children Jake and Jesse Osowski; father, Chester "Chet" Osowski; brother-in-law, James Cottrell

 

To honor Ed's life, a Memorial Service will be held on November 27, 2023, starting at 4:00 PM at the Speaks Suburban Chapel located at 18020 East 39th St S in Independence, Missouri. Friends and loved ones are invited to attend the Visitation following the service from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. This gathering will provide an opportunity for all those who knew Ed to come together, share stories of his remarkable life, and find solace in each other's company.

 

Ed leaves behind an irreplaceable legacy of kindness, compassion, and generosity. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him. As we reflect on his life, let us remember the joy he brought to countless lives and strive to embody the same spirit of love and selflessness that defined Ed's character.
