Donald Elliott

Donald Ralph Elliott, 78 of Greenwood, MO passed away, Friday, April 5, 2013 at Benchmark Healthcare in Harrisonville, MO. Cremation is planned with private family services to be held at a later date. Don was born August 10, 1934 in Independence, MO to Ralph D. and Dollie (Humphrey) Elliott and has been a lifelong area resident. He was a car enthusiast and was a writer for Hot Rod Magazine as well as being a founding member of the Hot Rod Association and member of the American Hot Rod Association. He enjoyed drag racing and collecting toy cars. He had worked for the IRS in security for a number of years until he retired in 2000. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Patsy (Uptegrove) of the home; 2 sons, Donald Ray Elliott and Michael Elliott of Greenwood, MO; a daughter, Martha Anne Elliott of Lenexa, MO; 2 sisters, Ann Cahill and Mary McMillan both of Independence, MO and 3 grandchildren, Patrick, Kaley and Jacob. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jane.
