Mary Ann Emmett, 82 of Independence, MO passed away Monday, August 23, 2010 at her residence. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday at the Carson-Speaks Chapel followed by a graveside service at 1:00 p.m., Friday at the Wharton Cemetery in Bosworth, MO. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the chapel. Donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society. Mary was born July 9, 1928 in Triplet, MO to John and Stella (Dawson) Potter. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who enjoyed all kinds of craftwork and most of all spending time with her family. She was a member of Rockwood Baptist Church. She was married to Eugene William Emmett on August 10, 1947; He preceded her in death in January on 1989. Survivors include; a daughter, Barbara Waldon and her husband Benjamin of Independence, MO; 2 sons, Kenny Emmett of Iconium, MO and Steven Emmett of Independence, MO; a brother, William Potter; 2 sisters, Mildred Hardin of Carrollton, MO and Dorothy Grossman of Bosworth, MO; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
