Michael England, Sr.

Michael W. England, Sr., 61, of Independence, MO passed away December 9, 2008. Born on October 22, 1947, in Kansas City, KS, Michael graduated from Shawnee Mission West in 1965. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, serving in the Vietnam War. He married Sondra Sharee Stevenson on June 20, 1970. In 2000, after 30 years Michael retired from General Motors. He loved fishing, coaching baseball, riding ATV’s, his grandchildren, family and friends. Michael will be remembered by those who love him as someone who loved life, and loved to laugh. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard England and Frances Wagner. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Sondra Sharee England; two sons, Michael Wayne England, Jr. and Richard Barrett England; second father, James Wagner; three brothers, Gary Lynn England, Bradley England and Jeffrey Wagner; one sister, Jan Conner; seven grandchildren, Kyle, Zachery, Nathan, Derek and Victoria England, Lakelyn and Landon Alley. A visitation will take place from 6-8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 15, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Services at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, at the chapel with burial to follow at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Contributions may be made to the Village Heights Community of Christ Congregation.
