Boyd Engle

Boyd Engle, 92, of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2011 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10-11:00 in the chapel. Burial in Mound Grove Cemetery. Boyd was born April 20, 1919 in Portland, IN to Virgil and Opal (Rupe) Engle. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Mr. Engle is survived by his daughter Janet Garner and husband Michael; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Velma Engle in ’04; daughter Sharon Francis in ’09; and by two brothers and one sister.
