James Epperson

Memorial services for Mr. Epperson, 81, of Independence, MO who died July 13, 2010 at his home following a long illness, will be held at 10:00 AM July 17, 2010 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence. Inurnment will be at Brooking Cemetery in Raytown. Mr. Epperson was born in Durango, CO February 13, 1929. He came to Independence, MO with his family in 1933. He served in the Merchant Marines and was a construction worker with Local 29. He was a member of the Community of Christ church. Mr. Epperson’s wife preceded him in death. Surviving him are his 4 daughters: Susie Epperson of Copperhill, Tennessee, Sharon Epperson of Independence, MO, Tena Epperson of Nevada, MO, and Vickie Joe Clark of Independence, MO; two brothers Frank Epperson of Farming, NM and Robert Epperson of Overland Park, KS; and two sisters Dorothy Casteel of Independence, MO and Helen Thomas of Linn Valley, KS; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and long time companion Karen Jennings.
