Ethel June King (nee Murdock) was born on June 9, 1931, to Ellis and Cora Murdock in Independence, Missouri. She graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1949 before going on to earn her associate degree from Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa, class of 1951. June lived much of her life in New Mexico. She enjoyed traveling and worked as a travel agent for many years.

June is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Richard Coke Wingo; her last husband, Albert King; her son, Mike Wingo; her granddaughter, Lorna Strand; and her siblings, Orsin Murdock, Fae Sherwood, Alva Murdock, and Matie Jorgensen. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Smith; stepchildren, Nadine (nee King) Overbay, David King, and Robert King; as well as her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews
