Mark Thomas Evans, 52 of Plattsburg, MO passed away, Monday, July 6, 2015. Mark was born March 12, 1963 in San Jose, CA the son of Bobby D. and Dorothy L. (Bausum) Evans. Mark served as a police officer and detective with the Independence Police Department for over 24 years. He was a member of the Independence Fraternal Order of Police. Mark enjoyed military memorabilia and history of WWI and WWII. Survivors include: his son, Ryan Evans and fianceé Chelsey Atkinson; daughter, Brittney Evans; granddaughter, Caitlynn Foresee; parents Bobby and Dorothy Evans; brother, Michael Evans and wife Marilyn; sisters, Jenny Dunham and husband Art and Cindy Evans; four nieces including Lindsay and Aubrie Evans; one great niece and two great nephews; girlfriend Stefanie Shanks and his IPD family. Visitation will be from 5 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening July 9, 2015 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. A Celebration of Mark’s Life will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 10, 2015 at the chapel. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Kearney, MO with Police Funeral Honors.
