Obituary

Fa'alogoifo Tusi Atagi passed peacefully, surrounded by his children and grandchildren in the early morning of September 10, 2026. Ifo was born on September 28, 1955, in Mapusagafou, American Samoa, to Sofegi Tusifolau and Suisamitafoloali’i Fa’alogoifo Atagi.

Ifo was first and foremost a father and grandfather. He was always proud to say that he had 6 kids and 17 Grandbabies. He loved being apart of everything each of them was doing. He attended all their activities whether it be playing sports or going to school events. He loved taking them on trips to Branson, going to the movies on the weekends, and teaching them how to work on the cars and any thing he could get his hands on. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. Ifo was outgoing and adventurous. He loved taking road trips across the country with his kids and traveling with his brothers and sisters where he made so many memories. He loved going white water rafting, camping, going on canoe trips, hunting on his family farm, and anything outdoors with his family. And everything he did, was with his family!

Ifo was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was proud and steadfast in his faith by loving and preaching the gospel throughout his life. He was the person you called when you needed a hand or needed help with anything. If he could fix it or find a solution, there was no stopping him. He was very much so, that type of person. He was a true example of what it is to “do unto others,” and it was fulfilling for him to be of service. A trait he proudly instilled in all his children and grandchildren.

Ifo had the honor of holding the position of the High Chief title “Fuimaono Naoia” from the Village of Salani, Falealili, Samoa.

Ifo was a Brick layer Foreman for Realm construction for over 20 years. Prior to that he Trained and worked for General Mills, as well as General Motors Inc.

Ifo was beloved by all, and true in his words. He moved throughout this life with such tenacity, hard-work, honor, integrity, and compassion. Never backing down for the things and people he believed in and loved. Finding the good in everyone and always making sure to let them know it. A man who wore many hats and did so with such grace. He will be deeply missed and loved.

He is survived by his 5 Sibilings: Tuatagaloa Tuitapa Leota To’omata Tusi Folau Atagi Jr, Selesa Tusi Atagi, Nive Tusi Atagi, Rowena Tusi Atagi- Stone, and Ricky Tusi Atagi. 6 children: Fa’alogoifo Jr. and Jennifer, Stayton Folau and Kristina, Jasmin Nissan and Adam Taula, Hunter Tamatau Potua, Peresia and Vince, and Suisamitafoloali’i. As well as his 15 grandchildren: Aneia Havin, Russell Sofegi, Hyland Tusi, Jasmin Renee, Ian Naoia, Alex Folau, Jaela Vi, Ziggy Leasiolagi, Ava Lynn, Jacob Atagi, Irie Jane Jasminali’i, Jada Mae, Lanei (NeiNei), Lotaua Mase, and Phoenix Suisamitafoloalii.

He is preceded in death by his 2 grandchildren who he is now reunited with in the after life: Mason Folau, and Angel Atagi. His parents: Sofegi Tusifolau and Suisamitafoloali’I Faalogoifo, as well as his Siblings: Atagi Atagi, Rosita Sika, Eka Tamasailau, and Tupua Lemana Stone.
