Faith Christine Bayne, aged 70, passed away on May 29, 2026, surrounded by her children and family. She was born July 1, 1955, in Saint Louis, Missouri to parents Don G. and Audrey L. Porter.

Faith lived a life of service devoted to her students, family, friends, and church community. Faith graduated from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri with a Bachelors in Elementary and Special Education in 1977 and her Masters in the Science of Education in 1980. She started teaching in Warrensburg while working on her Masters in 1977. Faith taught a wide range of ages during her 45 years as a Special Education Teacher. She also taught in the Hickman Mills, Independence, and Kansas City School Districts.

Faith married her husband, Kevin Bayne, at Stone Church in Independence, Missouri on May 23rd, 1986. Together, they were active members of Open Arms Community of Christ. They were married 36 years prior to Kevin’s passing in 2023. Life was often challenging for Faith, but she met each challenge with faith and trust in her Lord. Always an eternal optimist, Faith had a strong spirit and loved everyone. She is an amazing mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Many a soul came to Faith for advice and counsel which she gave from her heart. She believed in supporting everyone she met. She loved sewing and crocheting. She made many beautiful blankets over the years that she gifted to many people. She was also extremely patient in teaching young children how to crochet.

Faith was preceded in death by her son, Samuel, and her husband, Kevin. She is survived by son, Zachary (Hope) of Overland Park and daughter, Bethany (Chris) of Independence; and brothers: Don F, Ron, Michael, and Brian.

Faith is a living example of charity, the pure love of Christ.

A memorial service will be held at Open Arms Community of Christ, 1021 West College Street, Independence, Missouri 64050. Visitation is at 12:00pm. Service is at 1:00pm on Saturday, June 13, 2026.
