Eddie J. Farley, 78, of Independence, MO passed away, Friday, February 27, 2009 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at the Olive Branch Cemetery in White Cloud, KS. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Monday evening at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Eddie was born October 4, 1930 in Shenandoah, IA to Lewis and Josephine (Miller) Farley. He had worked on the assembly line at the GM Fairfax Plant for over 32 years before he retired. He was a member of the UAW local #31 in Kansas City, MO. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife Laquitta “Jean” Farley of the home; a daughter, Debbie Waggoner of Independence, MO; 4 brothers, Red Farley of Holt Summit, MO, Duane Farley, of Highland, KS, Gary Farley of Council Bluffs, IA and Glen Farley of Joplin, MO; 3 grandchildren, Todd Waggoner, Chris Swearingen and Joy Bradley and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Jessick and son, Terry Farley.
