Maria I. Favela, 86, Independence, MO, formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away Sept. 9, 2017. Visitation will be 4 – 8 pm, Wed, Sept. 13 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. She will be buried in her hometown of Durango, Mexico.
Maria was born March 21, 1931 in Chinacates, Durango, Mexico. She became a U.S. citizen and lived in Chicago for many years before moving to Independence, MO four years ago to live with her daughter.
Maria is survived by sons Miguel Nevarez, Hilario Nevarez, Sergio Nevarez; daughters Ema Nevarez, Victoria Nevarez, Lucia Nevarez, Ofelia Nevarez, Rosalina Nevarez, Lorena Nevarez; twenty-seven grandchildren
