William R. Fenner, 76, of Independence, MO passed away Thursday, March 20, 2008. A visitation will be from 1-2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 26 at Speaks Suburban Chapel with services to begin at 2:00 PM; burial to follow at Floral Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Crossroads Hospice, 9237 Ward Pkwy #300, Kansas City, MO 64114.
Bill was born March 7, 1932 to Morrison and Thelma (Johnson) Fenner. He served for two years in the United States Navy. He retired from the Gas Service Company after 41 years of employment as an engineer and superintendent/manager. Bill saw the good in everyone and treated everyone as his equal. He will be missed as a man of integrity, class and honor. Bill is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joan Fenner; son, Craig Fenner; two daughters: Linda Moore and Jann Riggs and husband Scott; three grandsons: Matthew Moore and wife Melissa, Brennan Riggs and Connor Riggs; great-grandson, William Moore; sister Frances D’Angelo and husband Norman; brother, John Fenner and wife Sally; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. The family would extend a special thanks to the caring staff of Crossroads Hospice and Carmel Hills Living Center.
