Oreta Ferguson

June 28, 1926 — October 3, 2013

Oreta Eilleene Siemens Ferguson, 87, of Independence, MO passed away Thursday, October 3rd 2013. A visitation will be held from 9:00 -10:00 a.m. Monday, October 7th at Carson Speaks Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. at the chapel. Burial will be at Mt. Washington.

Oreta was born June 28th 1926 in Bucklin, MO to Orval and Florence (Morris) Siemens as one of two children. She attended the local, Bucklin, high school. She married Benjamin Franklin Ferguson and together they had three beautiful daughters. She worked at Maib’s restaurant where she was the favorite waitress of President Truman. Oreta enjoyed baking and sewing. She worked hard and desired the best for her children. Oreta is loved and will be missed.

She is survived by daughters, Adah Lynn Ferguson Bivens and husband Cecil of Independence, MO; Judy Ferguson Cady and husband Rick of Bayou Vista, TX; seven grandchildren, David Kalanges, Kaliea Kalanges McMillan, Christina Cady Butler, Jenny Cady Janca, Sabrina Kalanges Stickle, Julie Hoerman Watson, and Benjamin Noel; eighteen great grandchildren, John Amador, Nicole Amador, Austin Pauley, Alexander Kalanges, Sebastian McMillan, Britany Watson, Tristan Stickle, Stormy Watson, Tantiana Stickle, Elijah Watson, Paige Watson, Calista Batson, Trinity Stickle, Faith Watson, Ashtin Butler, Gage Gonzalez, Trintin Butler, Athaniel (Khole) Gonzalez; great great grandchildren, Amoriana Allen and Ayden Pauley. Oreta was preceded in death by her husband; sister, Juanita Siemens Clover; daughter, Etta Lue Ferguson Noel; granddaughter, Natasha Michelle Hoerman.
