Emil John Fermyn, 84, Independence, MO passed away Monday, Dec. 21, 2009 at The Groves.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Independence, MO. Burial to follow at Mt Washington Forever Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
Emil was born January 6, 1925 in Kansas City, MO the son of Hector and Irma Louise (Nielson) Fermyn. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. Emil retired from Miles-Bayer as a foreman in 1987. He attended Glenwood Park Methodist Church. Emil enjoyed making stained glass, playing pool and he especially loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife Allena Mae (Enloe) Fermyn.
Survivors include his daughters, Teresa Thompson of Enid, OK; Rosemary Swank and her husband Jerry of Buckner; Becky Foster and her husband Ed of Drexel; Christine Warren and her husband Ron of Holt; and Johnna Lane of Kansas City; 10 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
