John T Ferrell

John Thomas Ferrell, 80, of Independence, MO, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday May 23, 2023. He was born March 12, 1943, in Independence, KS to John Paul and Nina (Bounds) Ferrell. John was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church, previously Waldo Baptist Church and was a proud member. He loved working with the children and watching them learn. John was an avid gardener and enjoyed raising roses. He was a fan of watching basketball and football, cheering for all the different teams. John worked in retail paint sales for a number of years and had wonderful relationships with his customers. He was an all-around nice man, and everyone thought very highly of him.

John is survived by his loving wife Marian of the home, sister-in-law Sherry Coy of Independence, MO, nephews; Matt, Matthew, and Memphis Coy all of Independence, MO, and Joseph Coy Oberfelt of Liberty, MO, niece Madison Coy of Lees Summit, MO, as well as many cousins, family members, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents John Paul and Nina Ferrell, and brother Jerry Ferrell.

A visitation will be held for John at Carson Speaks Chapel on Wednesday May 31, 2023, with family receiving guests from 6-8pm. A graveside service will be held at Buckner Hill Cemetery on June 1, 2023, at 11am.
