Glen Edward Figolah, 67, of Independence, MO, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2015. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 16th at Speaks Suburban Chapel.
Glen was born October 13, 1947 in Blue Island, Illinois as one of three boys to William Lind and Vivian Pearl (Lawarence) Figolah. He graduated from Ball State and Valpairaiso Universities with a Bachelor’s Degree. Afterwards, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he proudly served his country from 1970-1974. For numerous decades he worked as an instructor of Mathematics and Technology at Valparaiso Tech, ITT, Pinnacle Career Institute. For the last eleven years he transitioned to working for the IRS until his retirement. He was an active participant of Free Mason’s Grand Lodge of La Porte, Indiana. Glen married his beloved Kathleen (Tkaczuk) on June 30, 2001. He enjoyed news watching, as well as nature watching with his wife over the Missouri River.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen of the home; daughter, Erika Dutcher (Frank) of Westville, IN; his highly adored grandchildren, Bethany Figolah and Matthew Schroeder; brother, Mel Figolah (Barbara) formerly of IN; stepchildren, Heather Dolen of Independence, MO; Joshua Dolen of Springfield, MO; Jonathan Dolen of Lenexa, KS; and Kristen Dolen of Liberal, KS;. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bill Figolah.
