Alvin Jesse Fisher, 94, of Warrensburg, MO, passed away Monday, September 21, 2015. A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00pm Saturday, September 26th at Carson Speaks Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 2:00pm at the chapel. Cremation will follow with inurnment at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens at a later time.
Alvin was born October 3, 1920 in Independence, MO as one of five children to Dovey (Vaughan) and Carl Swartz Fisher. He proudly served as a Corporal in the United States Army during WWII. He married his beloved Wanda (Romi) Fisher in 1947. He worked in construction most of his life and retired at Unity Village working in the facilities department for over 10 years before retiring in 1989. He helped oversee the building of the Silent Unity Building. Alvin also enjoyed fishing, gardening, lawn work, and reading. His family remembers him as hard working, loving, caring and a trustworthy provider who loved his family more than anything, and who had a great sense of humor. He is survived by daughter, Jan Sumner and husband Timothy James of Lee’s Summit, MO; and son, Jay Fisher of Independence, MO. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda and daughter, Judith Fisher.
