Dorothy Louise Fisher, 82 of Blue Springs, MO passed away Thursday, December 11, 2008 at the Shangri-La Rehabilitation Center in Blue Springs. Services will be 9:00 a.m., Monday, December 15, 2008 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Stoutsville Cemetery in Stoutsville, MO. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday evening at the chapel. Dorothy was born September 7, 1926 in Honeywell, MO to William A. and Sarah Amanda (Hawn) Littrell and graduated from Stoutsville High School in 1944. During WWII she supported the war effort by working in an ammunition plant in Hannibal, MO. She was a baptized member of the Stoutsville Baptist Church. She worked as a silk finisher for Wilt Dry Cleaners and later for Painters Clothing in Paris, MO before she moved to Independence in 1961 and had 20 years loyal service to Englewood Cleaners before she retired in 1988. Dorothy was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She married Richard E. Fisher on November 30, 1951; he passed away on June 8, 2008. Survivors include; a son, Gerald Bainter and his wife Talara of Brighton, CO; 3 granddaughters, Denice Dietz and her husband Gary, Dawn Council and her husband David and Stacey Bainter; 6 great grandchildren; a special niece, Joyce Wood and her husband Jerry and many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by; her parents, a sister, Jewell Bannister; 3 brothers, Marvin, Eddie Leo “Pete” and William Littrell as well as 2 infant brothers, and twin grandsons, Terry Lynn and Gary Alan Bainter.
