Forrest Kenneth Fisher, 91, Independence, MO passed away Monday, October 19, 2009 at Wilshire at Lakewood Care Center.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, October 23, 2009 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Independence, MO. Burial to follow at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Crossroad Hospice.
Forrest was born April 16, 1918 in Cowgill, MO the son of Jacob Elmer and Beulah Ocean (Clevenger) Fisher. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. Forrest retired from Lake City Ammunition and was owner of Fisher Wire Specialty. He was a member of Glenwood Park United Methodist Church, past member of the American Legion and a lifetime member of the NRA. He enjoyed playing the organ and traveling in his motor home.
He was preceded in death by his son; John Robert Tillman; wives, Alice in 1997 and Christine in 2007; parents; brother, L.R. Fisher; and sisters, Geneva Braga, and Marie Miller.
Survivors include his sons, Gene Fisher of Independence; and Kenneth Wayne Fisher of Nine Mile Falls, WA; grandchildren, Shannon Sanderson; Jeremiah Fisher; and Kari Ann Fisher; eight great grandchildren and brother, Hubert Fisher of Wickenburg, AZ.
