Lena Mae Flagg

Lena Mae Flagg, 91, formerly of Independence, MO, passed away on June 2, 2015, in El Dorado Springs, MO.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2015, at 1:00pm, at Carson-Speaks Chapel, with visitation an hour prior. She will be laid to rest at Mount Washington Cemetery.
Lena was born on May 5, 1924, in Caldwell County, MO, to John and Lucinda (Jackson) Shumate. She was raised on a farm, where she later met Jack Yoakum. To this union was born a daughter, Beverly. Lena went on to work for Sheffield Steel as a crane operator where she met her second husband, Everett Flagg. They later had two children, Sharon & Dennis. Lena was a very talented seamstress, sewing clothes and quilting for her family. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, and taking care of her husband and children.
Lena is preceded in death by her two husbands; 7 siblings; and two sons-in-law, Jim Janes and Joseph Brill, Jr.
She is survived by her three children, Beverly Janes, Sharon Brill, and Dennis (Julianne) Flagg; brother, Kenneth Shumate; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
