Jean Flood Flamank

November 7, 1954 — April 13, 2007

Following a valiant seven-year battle against cancer, Jean Flood Flamank died of pneumonia on 4/13/07, with her family at her bedside. Jean was the proud mother of Todd and loving wife of Bill Flamank. Born in Watertown, New York on November 7, 1954, she was the youngest of six girls born to the late Dr. Anthony James Flood and Hope Travis Flood. She grew up in New York and California, and while a student at Stephens College in Missouri, met Bill, whom she married in 1978. Jean, Bill, and Todd have lived in Lees Summit since 1994. Jean had an unparalleled zest for life. Full of laughter and enthusiasm, she enjoyed each day to the fullest. She was an appreciator, determined to find the best in every situation, and her intelligence and keen wit brought joy to those who knew her. She was loved by many, who will long remember her gallantry and her charm. Jean is survived by her husband Bill and son Todd, her sisters Connie, Mimi, Mary, Kathleen, Judith and their husbands and children, her sister-in-law Jane Quigley and her husband Bill and their children Justin and Tyrin, and her brother-in-law George and his wife Claire and their daughter Katie. A memorial to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday April 18th at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Mo. At 2:00 p.m. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time at the chapel. Remembrances can be made in Jeans name to the Mid America Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or Humane Society.
