Joanne D. Flowers, 70, of Independence, MO passed away April 17, 2008 at Centerpoint Medical Center. A visitation will be held from 9-10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, with a service to immediately follow at 10:30 a.m., at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Joanne was born August 15, 1937 to Nat and Ruby Cracraft. She was born and raised in Lamoni, IA, and moved to Independence, MO with her husband Ray in 1960. Joanne enjoyed music, line dancing, square dancing, traveling, and time spent with her family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Raymond Flowers; three children, Steve (Chris) Flowers, Sherry (Chuck) Ward, Mike (Renda) Flowers; eleven grandchildren, Jeremy, Jeff, Kati, Kallina, Kara, Jenilyn, James, Mercedes, Jamarius, Hannah and GraceAnne; four great-grandchildren, Logan, Shayla, Hudson and Carter; two brothers, Raymond Lee and wife Toni Cracraft, and Nate Cracraft; as well as many nieces and nephews. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
