David Michael Forbis, 51, Buckner, left this earth for eternal life April 25, 2015, after a very brief battle with Sarcoma. Celebration of Life will be at 4:00 pm on May 23rd. VFW 12810 E. Kentucky Ave, Independence. MO 64050. David was a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say and an Eagle Scout. A native of Independence, he graduated from Truman High. David served US Army Reserves from 1983-1989. He worked for five years with the Carpenters Union and 24 years with the Laborers Union 264. He was a member of the Patriot Guard and Freedom of the Road Riders (FORR). David loved his farm, his tractor, his Harley, but his greatest love was his family. In 2011 he became father to two boys adopted from Ghana and instantly he became a devoted soccer dad! David lived his life as a true Eagle Scout. David will be dearly missed by his wife of 20 years, Margaret Recknor Forbis, his two sons, Richmond Dake Forbis and Clement Van Worth all of the home, his mother, Anna Forbis of East KCMO, sisters Cathy (Amos) Linsey, Independence and Mary (Craig) Dalrymple of Lee's Summit, his brother-in-law Bradley (Shelley) Recknor, Independence, and his nephews Jacob Linsey, Cameron and Connor Dalrymple, Cory Owens and Ely Recknor, his mother-in-law Sharron Dake and a multitude of friends. David was preceded in death by his father, David C Forbis in 1994.
