Laurel F. Fordham Barnhard, 90, Independence, MO passed away Friday, October 21, 2011.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 24, 2011 at Cornerstone Community of Christ Church; 1316 S. Osage, Independence, MO. Burial to follow at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Cornerstone Community of Christ Church.
Laurel was born January 5, 1921 in Independence, MO the daughter of Delbert A. and Flossie H. Whiting. She was a graduate of Wm Chrisman High School. Laurel was a life long member of the Cornerstone Community of Christ Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher, the women’s leader and held the office of teacher. She also volunteered with Independence Regional for over ten years.
Laurel was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence Fordham in 1983; daughter, Marilyn Faith and three brothers.
Survivors include her loving husband Milo Barnhard of the home; son, Wayne Fordham and wife Barbara; stepsons, Bill Barnhard and wife Janet, Dwight Barnhard and wife Carolyn, and David Barndard and wife Joyce; grandsons, Aaron and Jared Fordham; granddaughter, Lisa Long; stepgrandsons, Randy and Ronnie Tucker and four great grandchildren.
