Donald R. Forsythe, 82, Raytown, MO passed away Feb. 21. 2015. Services will be 2 pm, Sat., Feb. 28 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052; interment at Green Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 pm before the service at the chapel. Don was born Oct. 27, 1932 in Enid, OK. He was a U.S. Army veteran who earned a B.S. in Music Education from UMKC following his discharge from the service. He worked for the U.S.
Dept. of Agriculture for thirty-eight years before his retirement in 1990. He was a multi-talented person who was a tenor soloist, graphic artist, award-winning photographer and a pianist who had composed hundreds of songs. He was a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church since 1961 and had served as the church Treasurer and member of the Vestry for many years. He was a member of the Raytown Arts Council and the Gideons. Don is survived by his wife, a daughter, a son, a brother and four grandchildren.
