Kenneth C. Fowler, 92, of Independence, MO passed away Monday, April 2, 2012 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service starting at 9:00 a.m. Burial in Mound Grove Cemetery. Ken was born October 24, 1919 in Gordon, NE to George and Velma (Baber) Fowler. He graduated from Fremont High School in 1938 and earned his Bachelors degree from Graceland College. Mr. Fowler was united in marriage on May 2, 1942 to Deloris Prine. Together they shared 64 years of happiness before her death in 2007. Ken proudly served as a Master Sergeant for five years in the U.S. Army during WWII in Okinawa. Mr. Fowler had a career in banking and eventually retired from the international headquarters of the Community of Christ in 1985. Ken is survived by his sons Royce Fowler and wife Lacy, Rodney Fowler and wife Colleen, Rowland Fowler and wife Jan; grandchildren Andrea Shipps, Chris Fowler, Jennifer Stallsworth, Christy Adams, Clarence Housh, Marji Beam; great-grandchildren Brett Shipps, Tyler, Paige and Brooke Adams, Tristen and Jaeden Beam, Pierce Fowler, Zachary Stallsworth.
