Kenneth L. Francis, 93, Independence, MO went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 11, 2010.
A Celebration of Kenneth’s life will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St. Independence, MO. Burial to follow at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
Kenneth was born August 12, 1916 in Lathrop, MO the son of Louis F. and Ada B. (Cox) Francis. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. Kenneth received his Associates Degree from Kansas City Junior College. He served as Vice President and General Manager with Moore-Lowrey Flour Mills later called Independent Flour Mills and was a member of the Kansas City Board of Trade, and later worked for Farmland Industries as a Transit Analyst retiring in 1980.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Francis in 1998; two infant sisters and his parents.
Survivors include his sons; David B. Francis and his wife Lynne of Kansas City; and Louis F. Francis and his wife Kathy of Gladstone; grandchildren, Brad and Scott Francis, Ridley Thomas, Brett Francis, Lindsay Vanderhorst, Emily Myers, and Mary Beth Francis; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Marjorie R. Hunter, and Maxine Holst; brothers, Gerald D. Francis, Floyd F. Francis and Melvin E. Francis and numerous nieces and nephews.
