Barbara Fray

Barbara Jean Fray, 88, Raytown, MO passed away Oct. 7, 2013. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday Oct. 15 at Blue Ridge Presbyterian Church, 6429 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown MO 64133. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Wed, Oct. 9 at the church. Graveside services will be at 12:30 pm, Thursday, Oct. 10 at Roanoke Cemetery, Roanoke, MO. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to Blue Ridge Presbyterian Church. Barbara was born July 19, 1925 in Vinita, OK to Thomas Nathaniel Roach, Sr. and Irma (Dunlap) Roach. She served as Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star, Past State Dean of Grand Cross of Color and Past Mother Advisor of the International Order of Rainbow for Girls. She also served as a Den Mother in Cub Scouts. She was secretary to the Division Manager of Volvo White Trucks and was very well-liked. She and her husband, Bob, did a lot of camping and traveled to all fifty states. She and Bob enjoyed over thirty years of activity as members of the Ararat Shrine Guides Flag Unit. They traveled to England, Germany, Italy and Greece and took eleven cruises. She was a faithful member of the Linwood Presbyterian, First Presbyterian of Maryville, Faith Presbyterian and Blue Ridge Presbyterian Churches and served as an Elder, Deacon, Sunday school teacher and youth advisor. Barbara is survived by her husband of fifty-nine years, Bob Fray, of the home; son R. Paul Fray and wife Frankie Rene, Lee’s Summit, MO; niece Barbara McKinnon and family, Memphis, TN; nephew Donald Farmer, Sparta, TN; many cousins; very best friends Paul and Jo Ann Hudson, Raytown, MO; Bob and Judy Kile, Kansas City North, MO
