Bessie Lee Frazier, 85, of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Bessie was born May 30, 1925 to John and Sarah Louise (Snyder) Ames in Kansas City, MO. A lifelong area resident, Bessie worked at Sheffield Steel and Lake City Ammunition Plant, retiring in 1982. She had pride in her family, committing her life to them and loving unconditionally. Her strong devotion to her husband continued through their marriage and even after his death. Bessie has left a legacy of love that will live on forever in each of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be missed for her strong and independent nature by all who knew and loved her. Bessie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim Frazier, daughter Glenda Eaton, grandson Ryan Beckman, and many loved pets. She leaves behind her daughter Connie Cofer and husband Bob; son Steve Cox and wife Cheryl; ten grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren all of whom had the pleasure of calling her “grandma”. A service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 7 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence; burial at Floral Hills Cemetery. Visitation will begin one hour prior to services. The family requests that contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
