John O. Freeman, Jr., 66, Independence, MO died Feb. 24, 2013. A memorial service will be held at 3 pm, Friday, March 1 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055; cremation.
John was born Jan. 29, 1947 in Kansas City, MO and graduated from William Chrisman High School in the Class of 1965. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was an auto mechanic for over thirty-five years who worked at Montgomery Wards and retired from Direct Tire Outlet in 2001. He loved to camp and fish at Truman Lake with his family and was a big fan of the Chiefs and NASCAR.
John was preceded in death by his father, John O. Freeman, Sr. He is survived by wife Jean Freeman, of the home; sons John Freeman III and wife Sharon, Independence, MO; Jeff Freeman and wife Missy, North Kansas City, MO; Chaz Harper, Independence, MO; Jason Freeman and wife Terri, Gladstone, MO; Travis Freeman and wife Tabitha, Independence, MO; mother Bea Freeman, Parsons, KS; sister Sandra Bowman and husband Ralph, Erie, KS; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family members
