Sylvia Fae Propst Freers passed from this world Saturday, November 6, 2010 at the age of 67 years. Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Monday evening at the chapel and from 9:00 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the chapel. Donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society. She was born on May 8, 1943 in Orofino, ID to Lester and Cecil (McDaniel) Propst. Sylvia lived in Idaho and Washington before making her home in Independence, MO. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed by all. Sylvia lived her life as a devoted Christian and was a baptized member of the RLDS Church, and was currently a member of the Saint’s Restoration Branch in Blue Springs, MO. She was an avid gardener, an accomplished painter and photographer who loved spending time with family and friends. Her life enriched the lives of others and they will treasure the memories of their time together. She is survived by her husband of 47 years and lifelong companion, Fred Freers, their three children, Jerome L. Freers and wife Renee’, Stella Freers Preator and husband Chad, and Rene Roxanne Freers Durham; she will be greatly missed and remembered by her mother, Cecil L. Propst of Independence, MO; 2 sisters, Lynda Propst Rolfe and husband Rob of Lamoni, IA and Diana Propst Hughes and husband Gary of Blue Springs, MO; 9 grandchildren, Damon, Logan and Jacob Freers, Kristin and Jason Preator, Trevor Freers, Prestan and Dustin Skaggs and Trace Durham; 1 great granddaughter, Alexis Stamps and extended family.
