Velma L. Frisbey, 89, of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday May 18, 2004 at Rosewood Health Care Center. Services will be 10:00am Monday May 24, 2004 at The Groves Chapel. Visitation will be 6-7:30 Sunday May 23, 2004 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to OutReach International. Velma was born July 28, 1914 in LeBeck, MO to John and Myrtle (Anderson) Andes. She was a 5th generation member of the Community of Christ Church. Mrs. Frisbey was a charter member of the E. 39th St. Congregation Community of Christ. Velma loved to serve others whether it be working in the church kitchen or nursery. She was a homemaker always there for her family. Mrs. Frisbey is survived by her children; son Roger Frisbey of Buckner, MO, daughter and son-in-law Rose Etta and Robert Chinnery of Independence, MO, daughter Sharon Allison of Independence, MO, sons and daughters-in-law Kenneth and Donna Frisbey of Bates City, MO, Dennis and Susan Frisbey of Independence, MO; 23 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; brother Ivan Andes; sisters Fern and Audrie Andes; sister-in-law Mary Andes; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Velma was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Frisbey in 1972; 3 great-grandchildren.
