Thelma Nadine Galler
Thelma Galler, 86, of Oak Grove, MO passed away Saturday, October 4, 2008 at the Villages of Jackson Creek. Services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at the Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 5555 Valley View Road, Blue Springs, MO 64015; burial at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 PM Tuesday at Speaks Suburban Chapel.
Thelma was born on December 10, 1921 in Kansas City, KS to Cecil and Gladys (Snell) Conklin. She grew up in Eldora, CO and returned to Missouri after she married Raymond Galler. For many years, Thelma was employed as a secretary with Sears. She was a faithful member of the Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she served as women’s leader. Thelma enjoyed crocheting, painting, and reading, but most of all she loved kids.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Raymond Galler, daughter-in-law, Mary Galler, and brother, Raymond Conklin. She is survived by her children: Kenneth Galler, Barbara Schneider and husband Jim, Cheryl Wiss and husband Ed, and Judy Hopper and husband Doug; grandchildren: John, Annette, Jennifer, Raymond, Kimberly, Michael, Danielle, and Allison; 9 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
