Arlene Gandy
Arlene Gandy, 88, of Independence, died April 6, 2007 at MCI Hospital. A visitation will be held on Monday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Speaks Suburban Chapel followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Services will be held on Monday at 4:00 p.m. at the Strasburg Cemetery, Strasburg, Missouri.
Arlene was born in Cass County, Missouri on May 22, 1918 the daughter of Charles Franklin and Gladys (White) Dillon. She married Jean Walker Gandy on November 16, 1939 in Warrensburg, Missouri. Arlene taught school for a short time and was a homemaker. She will be remembered as a loving gramma. She was a lifelong Christian and was a member of the Blue Ridge Christian Church for 51 years where she also belonged to the Women�s Circle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jean on February 4, 1982, by her parents and her brother Garland Dillon. Arlene is survived by two daughters, Linda Lehman and husband Wayne of Peoria, Ill., and Loretta Owsley of Independence. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Lori (Ken) Parkhill, Wendy (Jon) Weddle, Andrew Lehman, Matthew (Deanna) Owsley, Timothy Owsley, Sarah (Matt) Hargrave, and Peter Owsley; fourteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
