Gary Lee Fiene, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on June 14, 2024, in Lee's Summit, Missouri. Born on December 29, 1944, in Wellington, Missouri, to Harold and Henrietta (Hufford) Fiene. Gary was a man of many talents and passions. He graduated from Alma High School in 1962. In 1968, Gary went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. His dedication and service to his country were truly commendable. He continued to serve the veteran community as a member of the American Legion Post 478 in Blackburn, Missouri.
Gary's career was a testament to his hard work and determination. After learning the trades of plumbing and electrical under his uncle and a friend, he embarked on a self-employment journey that spanned over 50 years. His expertise and professionalism made him a trusted figure in his community.
Aside from his professional life, Gary found immense joy in sharing special moments with his family. He married the love of his life, Judy, on May 14, 1965, and remained a loving husband until her passing on June 14, 2015. Together, they overcame many obstacles and created countless memories in life. He cherished watching his kids grow into adults and start families of their own. He took on the role of coaching his kids in little league baseball and found immense joy in watching his grandkids play sports — experiences that brought him tremendous pride and happiness.
In his free time, Gary sought solace in woodworking and led workshops for local 4-H groups on woodworking and leathercrafting. He was also an avid cake decorator, practicing his talent whenever Judy had baked one. His creative spirit shone bright through his craftsmanship and dedication to passing on his skills to others.
