Mildred Louise Gayle, 78, of Independence, MO passed away Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Centerpoint Medical Center. A visitation will be from 9-10:00 AM Wednesday, August 26 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence with services to begin at 10:00 AM; burial at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Harrisonville, MO.
Mildred was born May 1, 1931 in Harrisonville, MO to Marion and Edna (Felber) Moore. She worked as an office manager for Interstate Collections for 14 years prior to her retirement and was a faithful member of River Boulevard Baptist Church. Mildred enjoyed playing cards and loved her family more than all.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, John W. “Billy” Gayle, and siblings Jack Moore and Betty Bonewitz. She is survived by two step-sons: Tony Gayle and Vance Gayle; nieces and nephews: Becky Elliott, Rodney Nelson and wife Anissa, Roger Nelson, Randy Nelson, and Cheri Truelove and husband Rocky; great nieces and nephews: Jason, Tiffany, Lacrisha, Tracy, Elizabeth, Emily, Ethan, and Kate; five great-great nieces and nephews; and her dear friends at Fairmount Plaza Apartments.
