Genevieve Sue Pinter 89 of Sugar Creek passed away Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church with burial to follow in Mound Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10:00 am with a rosary to be recited at 10:30 am Thursday at the church. Donations may be made in her name to St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Genevieve was born January 22, 1936 in Sugar Creek, MO to Michael and Anna (Toth) Cholak and has been a lifelong resident of Sugar Creek, MO graduating from Northeast High School in 1954 and later received a associate’s degree from UMKC. She enjoyed gardening and raising house plants, reading and most of all spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was vice-president of Blue Valley Savings & Loan from 1969-92 and later for Sterling National Bank. She later owned and operated Heaven Sent Book, Bible and Gifts from 1991-2003. She was awarded Secretary of the Year in 1977 from the Missouri Division of National Secretaries Association. She had also served as president of the Heart of America Chapter and the National Secretaries Association and was awarded Chapter of the Year in 1978. He was a lifelong member of St. Cyril’s Catholic Church and after the church closed she had attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband Bob of the home; 2 sons, Rob Pinter of Sugar Creek, MO and Mark Pinter of Olathe, KS; a sister, Veronica Powell of Sugar Creek, MO; 2 grandchildren, Mark, Jr and Dustin and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Phillip Cholak, Michael Cholak and Frank Cholak and 2 sisters, an infant sister, Joann Cholak and Patricia Weaver.
