Joe Gensor died on February 28, 2008 at the age of 83. His mother, Mary Hnoycik, immigrated from Czechoslovakia to Sugar Creek in 1921 and married Andy Gensor. They had four other children, Tony Gensor (deceased), Vera Villers (deceased), Mary Wrabec, and Agnes Pennington. Joe Gensor is succeeded by three children, Joe “Joey” (Dallas, TX), who is married to Eda, Tom (Independence, Mo.), and Mary Ann (Lee’s Summit) who is married to Steve Johnson. Joe served as a Corporal in the 357th Airdrone Squadron from April 1943 to November 1945. He was awarded Three Battle Stars for services in England, France, Germany, Holland, and Belgium. He worked for Kaw Transport Company for over 40 years. Joe lived in Sugar Creek, Missouri from birth through his retirement. Due to his health, in his final years he resided at John Knox Village in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Joe was outgoing and many in Sugar Creek knew and enjoyed his outgoing personality.
A visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, Monday, March 3 at Carson-Speaks Chapel with services following at 2:00 PM; private family burial.
