David E. Gentry

David E. Gentry, 69 of Independence, passed away Wed. May 9, 2007 at his home. Memorial services will be 5:00 pm, Sat. May 12, 2007 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St. Indep. MO, with the visitation being held from 3:00 pm until service time. Contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association. Mr. Gentry was born on Aug. 20, 1937 to Boyd and Georgia Gentry in Tuscaloosa, Al and had lived in Zion, IL before moving to Independence. He retired from the Insurance Business in 1998. David was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed golfing and softball. He tutored students in pitching, leading them to receive college scholarships, and had played on tennis and fast pitch softball teams while in college. He is survived by his wife, Sandy Gentry of Independence, a son, Mike Gentry and wife, Dana of Independence, MO. Three daughters, Cynthia Gentry Black and husband Lloyd of Kansas City, MO, Robin Przekop of Danville, PA and Melody Frank and husband James of Kearney, MO. Two grandsons, Jeremy Gentry of Independence, MO and Brett Przekop of Danville, PA. A brother, Thomas Leon Gentry of Carmichael, CA
