Lawrence Edward Gervy, Jr., 87 of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, April 18, 2015 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, April 23, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 611 N. Liberty St., Independence, MO 64050. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Donations may be made in his name to the American Heart Association. Lawrence was born in Chicago, IL to Lawrence E. Gervy, Sr. and Evelyn (Chatburn) Gervy. He had worked as maintenance supervisor for City Wide Asphalt for 30 years before he retired. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He is survived by: 3 sons, Larry Gervy and his wife Nancy, Dennis Gervy and wife Sherrie and Gregory Gervy and wife Susan; 12 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Dorothy in 2005, a daughter, Pam Gervy in 1999, a son, Kenneth Gervy in 2000 and a grandson, Jeffrey Gervy in 2009.
