Terry L. Giaccetti, 61, of Independence, MO passed away due to heart failure Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Centerpoint Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2011 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10-11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice, 9237 Ward Parkway, Suite 300, Kansas City, MO 64114. He will be laid to rest in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Terry was born July 6, 1949 in Kansas City, MO. Mr. Giaccetti graduated from Truman High School in 1967. He was a Conductor with Union Pacific Railroad for 36 years before his retirement in 2008 and was a member of the UTU. Mr. Giaccetti loved his family dearly and was a wonderful husband and devoted father. He enjoyed traveling, working in his yard and collecting kerosene lanterns, clocks, and trains in his spare time. Terry was known for his kind heart and was loved by all that knew him. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 28 years, Joyce (Griffith) Giaccetti; son Travis Giaccetti and wife Taylor; daughter Tracie Biggerstaff and husband Nick; grandchildren Gianni and Gino Giaccetti; in-laws Lawrence and Margaret Griffith; and his devoted dog, Sweetie; and leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Galleo Giaccetti; brother Larry Giaccetti; and his best friend Robert “Bob” Kueker.
