James R. Gibson

James R. Gibson, 56, of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, January 17, 2004 at the Medical Center of Independence. Services will be 10:00 am Thursday, January 22, 2004 at Speaks Midtown Chapel. Visitation will be 6-8:00 pm Wednesday at the chapel. Cremation following. Memorial contributions may be made directly to the family. James was born October 3, 1947 in Independence, MO to Robert E. and Martha (Clements-Spivey) Gibson. Mr. Gibson enjoyed playing baseball in school and was an avid golfer most recently. He was a member of the Blue Lodge, the Scottish Rites, Ararat Shrine, was the past Governor of the Moose Lodge #2414, and the Eagles #3717. James is survived by his wife Darlene (Davis) Gibson of the home; daughters Cassandra Sanders, Trish Blank (Curt), Tracy Beemer (Mark) and Michelle Parrish all of Independence, MO; grandchildren Trevor, Britany, Jennifer, Courtney, Doug, Amber, Robert Lee, Darian and Samantha; brothers Joe and Kenny Lynch; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Gibson was preceded in death by his biological parents; step-father Charles Spivey and a brother Douglas Gibson.
