Margaret Gifford

Margaret June Gifford, 89 of Blue Springs, MO formerly of Independence, MO, passed away, Monday, December 16, 2013 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 19, 2013 at the Glenwild Cemetery near Westline, MO. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Avenue, Independence, MO 64052. Donations may be made in her name to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital. Margaret was born June 17, 1924 in Independence, MO to Theodore and Pearl Mae (Noland) Carver and has been a lifelong area resident. She had worked as a bartender most of her life from 1958 until 2008. She was an avid KC Chiefs fan, she collected angels and enjoyed her work and people. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. She is survived by; her children, Sandy Bowen of Lincoln, MO, Cheryl Garland of Dallas, TX, Theanne Schneider of Buckner, MO, John Richardson of Ozark, MO and Kathy Cooper of North KC, MO; 2 half sisters, Joan Carver of Kansas City, MO and Judy Carver of New Mexico; 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
