Gilbert Leon Jessick

Gilbert Leon Jessick, 72 of Buckner, MO passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Rosewood Health Center.  Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at the Speaks Buckner Chapel with burial to follow in Buckner Hill Cemetery.  The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time Tuesday at the chapel.  Gilbert was born December 9, 1951 in Independence, MO to Floyd Doan and Wanda (Snow) and was raised by John Jessick and Wanda (Snow).  He has been a lifelong area resident and had worked as a truck driver most recently for Penske Trucking Company.  He had also been a roofer and was a member of the local roofer’s union.  He simply enjoyed spending time with his family and his many friends.  Gilbert is survived by; a daughter, Melissa Douglas and her husband David of Buckner, MO; a son, John Jessick and wife Leanna of Orcutt, CA; 5 grandchildren, Nicholas Gaitan III and Autumn Douglas both of Buckner, MO and Taylor Jessick, Payton Jessick and Remy Jessick all of Orcutt, CA; his former wife, Lorrie Barry of Oxnard, CA and a nephew, Clayton Jessick. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Wanda Jessick, Floyd Doan and a brother, Floyd “Buddy” Jessick.
