Sylvia Margaret Gilbert (Borland)

Sylvia Gilbert, 75, of Indep., MO passed away May 26, 2015. Per her request there will be no services. Private family Inurnment will take place at a later date in Oakland Cemetery. Sylvia was born on September 22, 1939 in Independence, MO to Harry and Margaret (Webb) Borland. She was a graduate of Van Horn School and attended William Jewell College. Sylvia worked at Kmart on 24 Hwy for 17 years. She was a long time member of Oakland United Methodist Church. Sylvia enjoyed working on puzzles of all kinds and watching television, especially her soap operas! She will always be remembered fondly as a good wife and terrific homemaker. Survivors include; husband, John Gilbert; son Robert O’Hare; daughter Sheryl Gilbert; son John Gilbert III (Joyce); brother Jeff Borland; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
