Letha Marie Gipson, 88 of Independence, MO passed away Monday, September 18, 2006 at the Regency Health Care Center. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday September 23, 2006 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial will be in the Mount Washington Forever Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Friday at the chapel. Letha was born May 20, 1918 in Kansas City, Mo to James and Cora Marie (Warneck) Haff and has been a lifelong area resident. She had worked as a floral designer for over 40 years for Hill�s Flower Shop in Independence and for a short time at Cairn�s Flowers. Letha was a veteran of WWII having served in the Women�s Air Corps (WAC) in 1943. She enjoyed working with flowers and crocheting. She was a member of The First Christian Church. She was married to Aubrey L. Gipson on August 22, 1943; he died on September 20, 1978. She was also preceeded in death by her grandson, Loyd Greene. Survivors include; a daughter, Marie Jaenette Greene and her husband Robert of Independence, MO and several nieces and nephews.
